Pay monthly websites
A professionally built website for a small up front fee and a fixed monthly price, with hosting, changes and support included. You own it from day one, and every term is on this page.
A website you pay for monthly, and own outright
Most small businesses do not want a £2,000 invoice before a single enquiry has come in. Paying monthly spreads the cost of the build and keeps someone responsible for the site after launch. The catch with a lot of pay monthly deals is the contract: long terms, exit fees, and a website you are only ever renting.
Ours works differently. You pay £450 up front to cover the build, then a fixed monthly price for the website and everything that keeps it working. You own it from the first day, and the terms below are the whole of them.
Every plan includes
- The build itself, with a fixed written scope before anything starts
- Managed hosting, backups and security updates
- Small content changes when your prices, hours or photos change
- Page titles, structure and schema that Google and AI assistants can read
- A real person to call, who also built the site
- You own the website, its content and your domain from day one
How much per month
All plans run on a 12 month minimum term, then roll monthly. You own your website from day one; cancel inside the first year and only the balance of the build fee is due. Custom work is scoped and quoted before anything starts.

Pay monthly or pay up front?
Here is what the common routes add up to over one and three years. Paying monthly is cheapest in year one. Over three years it is close, so judge it on what the monthly includes.
| Route | Up front | Monthly | Year one | Three years |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DIY builder | £0 | £16 | £192 | £606 |
| Pay monthly, no deposit | £0 | £49 | £588 | £1,764 |
| Freelancer, then hosting | £1,500 | £30 | £1,860 | £2,580 |
| Quantara Starter | £450 | £45 | £990 | £2,070 |
| Quantara Growth | £450 | £67 | £1,254 | £2,862 |
Six questions to ask before you sign anything
Ask every provider these, ourselves included, and get the answers in writing. Here are ours.
- Do I own the website?
- Yes, from day one. Not after a set number of payments.
- Do I own the domain?
- Yes. It is registered to your business, not to us.
- What is the minimum term?
- 12 months, then it rolls monthly. Nothing longer.
- What happens if I leave?
- You get a full copy of the site and help moving it. Inside the first year only the balance of the build fee is due.
- What does the monthly actually cover?
- Hosting is the smallest part. You are paying for changes, support, monitoring and the enquiry tools.
- Can the price go up?
- Your monthly price is fixed for the first year, and any review after that is capped in writing.
Is pay monthly right for you?
A good fit if
- You want a proper site now without a four figure invoice up front
- You would rather call someone than learn a website builder
- Your website needs to bring in enquiries, not just exist
- You want changes made for you when prices or services change
Probably not if
- You enjoy building and are happy to maintain it yourself
- You only need a single page with your phone number on it
- You want a large online shop with hundreds of products

Common questions
Do people pay monthly for websites?
Yes. Many UK small businesses now pay for their website monthly rather than in one lump sum, the same way they pay for phones or software. Pay monthly plans commonly run from about £29 to £70 a month. What varies between providers is what the fee includes and whether you actually own the site.
How much should I pay per month for a website?
For a small business website that includes hosting, updates and support, £45 to £70 a month is typical. Hosting and maintenance alone, with no content changes, is usually worth £25 to £50. Quantara Digital plans are £45, £67 or £199 a month after a £450 build fee.
What is the cheapest monthly website?
A DIY builder such as Wix or Squarespace, at roughly £9 to £30 a month plus the hours you spend building and looking after it. For some businesses that is the right call. If your time is worth more than the difference, a done for you plan usually works out cheaper.
Do I own a pay monthly website?
It depends entirely on the contract, so always ask for the answer in writing. With Quantara Digital you own the website, its content and your domain from day one. Some providers only transfer ownership after a set number of payments, and some never do.
What happens if I cancel a pay monthly website?
With Quantara Digital, plans run on a 12 month minimum term and then roll monthly. If you cancel inside the first year, only the balance of the build fee is due. Whenever you leave, you receive a full copy of the site and help moving it.
Is a pay monthly website cheaper than paying up front?
In the first year, usually yes. On the illustrative figures above, our Starter plan costs £990 in year one against about £1,860 for a £1,500 freelance build plus hosting and updates. Over three years the gap narrows, which is why ownership and what the monthly covers matter more than the headline price.
